Getting a list of foods for a diabetic to eat is an important thing to do if you are suffering from diabetes. Some foods are known to wreck havoc across your body and make you more ill than you already are. On the other side of the coin however, there are foods that are designed to make you feel better, healthier and more energetic. If you eat the right foods your condition can subside and you can live a healthy productive life without frequent hospital trips or doctor visits.

You will want to avoid food like white rice, they contain simple carbohydrates which your body converts to sugar!!! Instead focus of foods like brown rice, which is made up of complex carbohydrates. Vegetables are amazing for someone on a special diabetic diet. Eating vegetables every day will provide your body with the necessary vitamins and minerals needed to properly function.

Fruits are good to eat  “in moderation.” Fruits are sweet so they will satisfy your sweet tooth. Do not eat more than two to about three servings of fruit per day. Eating too much fruit can put too much sugar into your body, something you do not need or want to do to yourself.

Lean meats are good for protein but must be eaten in moderation, sticking to lean meats is always a good idea when you are managing diabetes. Eating too much red meat can be damaging to your heath.

Milk as well as dairy products such as yogurt is also good for your body because it keeps everything strong and working.

It is so important to know what foods are on your approved list, of foods for a diabetic to eat because, making a mistake can be harmful to your health and in severe cases may cause more extreme health related issues later on.

When you first get diabetes it’s always good to go see a  nutritionist and an endocrinologist! An Endocrinologist is a specialized doctor above a regular family doctor who can help you more with your diabetes!
